About Our Site

AGardenBuilding was formed to offer a unique reference point on a comprehensive guide to outdoor buildings.

Garden buildings used to be just sheds and perhaps the odd garage or car port thrown in. But now that there's pressure on space and moving house is so much more expensive, many people look to the land in their garden to make more living space.

People who work at home increasingly work in offices in the garden, or studios for the more creative pursuits. Alternatively a garden building can be a pure leisure space, an outdoor kitchen and dining room, an extra lounge, or even a pool house.

There are more and more companies offering custom and pre-fabricated garden buildings for all these uses and more, so where do you go for help in finding out what you need and where to get it?

Let AGardenBuilding take you through the maze of options. We'll clarify any planning or building regulatory issues, help you decide on the best option for your needs and then show you what you need to be aware of before making a purchase.

Best of all you can be sure that AGardenBuilding is giving you completely impartial advice because we are not associated with any company that has any involvement whatsoever with garden buildings.

You can also use our 'Ask Our Experts' feature to get independent advice from our experts.

Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.

Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.

Our Background

AGardenBuilding was founded by John Rowlinson, the founder of PtS.

John, through PtS, is involved in a number of ventures including software and property companies. A percentage of revenue from these activities goes towards funding AGardenBuilding and a number of similar sites.

Our focus is simply on having experts create the highest quality information possible that is widely read.
